Low calorie #glutenfree, #bloodsugar balancing and refreshing treat.

To reduce the insulin surge effect of a concentrate of sugars have your fruit in gelatin. A cooling #summer treat is my No Guilt Popsicles recipe, an easy way to consume slow absorbing fruit sugars and include low-inflammatory amino acids, which includes glycine for better production of glutathione, which is one of the most important #liver-cleansing #detoxifiers.
Why use Gelatin?
Two of the anti-inflammatory amino acids contained in gelatin are glycine and proline. Glycine is also important for our ability to naturally detoxify ourselves of heavy metal chemicals or toxic substances we come into contact with through our diet and environment. Proline is critical for giving connective tissue throughout the body its strength and durability. .
3 Ingredients:
8 ripe kiwis enough to make 1 1/2 cups of liquified fruit, leave one out to slice.
1-2 tablespoons agave or honey to taste
1 tablespoons unsweetened #grassfed #gelatin flakes dissolved in 1 1/2 cups of water (see dissolving gelatin instructions below)
Equipment: 6 8-ounce popsicle molds, food processor to make smoothies
Prep time: 20 minutes
Freeze time: 4-6 hours
Yield: 6 popsicles
Blend 5 kiwis with 1-2 tablespoons sweetener (to taste - depends how sweet and ripe your kiwis are), until liquified. Add to dissolved gelatin (follow instructions on gelatin packet). Place a slice of kiwi into each of 6 popsicle molds and add the combined liquified gelatin mixture. If the molds come with pre-formed sticks, cover and freeze overnight. If you need to add your own wooden sticks, insert into molds after freezing for 2 hours then freeze another 2-4 hours or overnight.
Run popsicle molds under warm water to easily remove. Eat on a hot day. Enjoy!
Gelatin-Making Know How
Add 1/2-3/4 cup of the water to a bowl or liquid measuring cup and sprinkle with gelatin powder.
Whisk together to combine and allow to sit for 3-5 minutes to “bloom.” The granules will plump and the mixture will look like very thick applesauce or take on a lumpy appearance.
Pour the bloom and the remaining water into a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until almost boiling. Stir gently to release any gelatin bloom from the bottom of the pan.
Remove from heat. Stir to dissolve.
Add to the liquified fruit and pour into popsicle molds.
What a Surprise to Me!
My 'go-to' solution for sleep has become my regular bedtime routine.
When I discovered that salty #grassfed bone broth will correct the water-balance hormone, the #Naturiatic Hormone found in the lining of the heart, I was able to #sleep through the night without getting up to pee (#nocturia).
A Snippet of Science to Get Inspired
The Naturiatic Hormone seems to be the most misunderstood, fluid balancing hormone. Activated by sensors in the heart to maintain salinity and fluid volume in circulation, the Naturiatic Hormone governs the amount of aldosterone and anti-diuretic hormone released in the kidneys. During the night, the blood circulates a high volume of acids from assimilation and detoxification in the liver. The circulation needs to have proper hydration and to maintain a narrow range of alkalinity, a pH of 7.35 to 7.45. This is accomplished by keeping specific levels sodium and potassium ions around to neutralize the acids released by the liver. Having a salty broth at bedtime supplies the sodium (and low acidity amino acids, glycine and proline), needed to stimulate the Anti-diuretic Hormone and inhibit Aldosterone to prevent the bladder filling prematurely during the night.
